Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-concept and hair care behavior in STIK FAMIKA Makassar female students. The research design used was cross-sectional. The research instrument used a questionnaire sheet. The sample in this study were students at the academic and professional stages taken by simple random sampling as many as 56 respondents. After conducting the research, the data was then processed using a computer program SPSS version 17.00 with Chi Square statistical test with yates correction. respondents, and poor hair care behavior as much as 1 (1.8%) respondents. Low self-concept with good hair care behavior as many as 1 (1.8%) respondents, and poor hair care behavior as many as 2 (3.6%) respondents. The results of statistical tests using the Chi-Square test with Yates correction obtained the value of X²count (12.460) > X²table (3.84), meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, there is a relationship between self-concept and hair care behavior in STIK FAMIKA Makassar female students. It is recommended for female students to always be able to accept the condition and condition of their hair, and try to do hair care in order to have healthy hair
