Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of age and nutritional status of pregnant women on the incidence of LBW in infants at the Pallangga Health Center, Gowa Regency. The research design used is analytic with a cross-sectional study approach. The results of this study were obtained using an assessment sheet with a sample of 29 respondents. Sampling was done by accidental sampling. The results of the statistical analysis of multiple linear regression with the T test showed that there was no effect of age on the incidence of LBW because the significant value was 0.200> 0.05 and the t-count < t table (1,314<2,056), while maternal nutritional status had a negative effect on the incidence of LBW with a significance value of 0.035. < 0.05 and the value of t count> t table (-2.226 > 2.056). The results of the F test analysis showed that there was a simultaneous effect of age and nutritional status of pregnant women on the incidence of LBW, which obtained a significant value of 0.034 <0.05 and the value of f count> f table (3.878> 3.32). The conclusion of this study is that partially there is no significant effect of age on the incidence of LBW, but the nutritional status of pregnant women has a significant effect on the incidence of LBW and when tested together the effect of the two variables is 23% the effect on the incidence of LBW in infants in Pallangga Health Center, Gowa Regency
