THE RELATIONSHIP OF HORMONAL CONTRACEPTION EQUIPMENT WITH WEIGHT INCREASE AT PUSKESMAS GENTUNGAN, BAJENG BARAT DISTRICT GOWA DISTRICT

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between hormonal contraception and weight gain at the Gentungan Health Center, Bajeng Barat District, Gowa Regency. The research design used an analytical survey with a "Cross-Sectional Study" approach with data collection using an observation sheet. The population in this study were 53 respondents with Accidental Sampling sampling technique. Data processing using Chi-Square statistical test. Based on the results of the analysis, 43 respondents (81.1%) used hormonal contraception and experienced weight gain, 10 respondents (18.9%) used hormonal contraception and did not gain weight. The results of statistical tests using the Chi-square test obtained X² count = 20.055 > from X² table = 3.84 H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that there was a relationship between hormonal contraceptives and weight gain at the Gentungan Health Center, Bajeng Barat District, Gowa Regency. It is recommended for the health workers concerned that counseling should be carried out as a follow-up to the results of the study to provide information to mothers about how to choose a good contraceptive
