Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of premenopausal mothers in dealing with changes during menopause in Terang-terang Village, Ujung Bulu District, Bulukumba Regency. The design of this research is quantitative using analytical survey method through cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all 213 premenopausal mothers. The sample in this study was taken by purposive sampling technique, totaling 68 people. The results of the study obtained good knowledge of 60 (88.2%) respondents, lack of knowledge 8 (11.8%) respondents. Respondents with good attitude 53 (77.9%) respondents and less 15 (22.1%) respondents. The results of the analysis are 53 (77.9%) respondents who have good knowledge and good attitudes in dealing with changes during menopause, then there are 7 (10.3%) respondents who have good knowledge but lack of attitude, and 8 (11.8%) respondents who have less knowledge and are less obedient in the implementation of hypertension therapy programs. Based on the statistical test results obtained p-value = 0.000 or p-value <0.05. Thus, it can be said that Ho is rejected, Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between knowledge and the attitude of premenopausal mothers in dealing with changes during menopause in Terang-terang Village, Ujung Bulu District, Bulukumba Regency. It is recommended that community nurses and maternity nurses socialize nursing activities in dealing with changes in the increasing menopause
